Future Fuels

Future Fuels

For over 50 years heating oil has been a popular choice for 'off grid' homes, i.e homes not on the gas grid. However, in order to help tackle climate change and achieve the UK’s Net Zero target, we all need to begin the transitional journey from fossil fuels to future fuels, similar to the transition from coal to oil to help reduce our carbon footprint.

With the calendar now counting down to Net Zero target 2050, and the transition to future fuels, it is the mission of Your NRG to help the UK Government to deliver ‘next generation fuels’ by working together with all of our stakeholders, staff, suppliers and customers to build a sustainable service with ‘purpose’ throughout the supply chain.

Your future fuels such as HVO and GTL will be cleaner and greener and made from fossil free, certified sustainable waste materials, reducing all of your carbon emissions, in some cases by almost 90% compared to existing fuels.

And, whilst we won’t notice the difference, with future fuels running just as efficiently as in existing systems, we will be creating a pathway to a better environment for all communities by exceeding expectations at all levels through a process of continuous improvement. Only by understanding our services and that we deliver more than just our products; warming our communities and providing the power to keep industry, agriculture and commerce moving, can we successfully transition to Net Zero.

In the knowledge that dramatic reductions in all of our emissions can be achieved by simply changing the type of fuels we all use, we and the liquid fuel heating industry are currently trialling new sustainable and renewable liquid future ready fuel products to 'drop in' and replace fossil fuels in existing systems. And, subject to the completion of successful trials and obtaining government approval, we hope to be able to begin introducing ‘next generation fuels’ in 2021 through 2022 and beyond.
